Katrina is Wendy's granddaughter and has been at the store since she was 3 months old. In December, she celebrated her second birthday. Her mom works occasionally at the store, allowing her to spend many hours reading up on the latest techniques and patterns and feeling the fabric. She is becoming quite the quilter!

Well, winter is finally over. I am so anxious for the snow to completely melt. I am really moving around these days. Over Christmas and my birthday I got a lot new toys that I can't wait to play with outside, a bike being one of them. Oma's shop is constantly growing and changing. She never keeps supplies in for very long. And my Opa is now in business for himself in the same building as Oma. His company, Stitches-n-Bytes, takes care of computers and sewing machine repair. So if you are having trouble with your machine, don't hesitate to drop it off for a good cleaning or fixing.

Our class list just keeps on growing as well. This past month, my Aunt Patience even did a class and Mom is thinking about doing a few come summer. We have even begun to offer beginning sewing classes for adults and quiltings classes for kids. Oma says I am still too young, but by the time I am old enough, I will be ready to take some the expert classes if I have any say in it!

Last year's Quilt Walk was such a huge success that we are starting the plans for this year's. Last year I got to go around and hang up all the quilts with mom and Aunt Robin. This year we are hoping to have so many that we won't be able to handle them all, so get your quilts ready and set the time aside to help us hang them in the store windows of Main Street and Lake Street. It is such a wonderful weekend. Not only do you get to see all the beautiful quilts, you can also shop the wonderful town of Antioch. We have so many neat shops in town.

We are involved in a lot of a programs right now, but there is one in particular that I want to bring to your attention. Many of us have been touched by breast cancer in some way. Even at my young age, I watched my god-grandmother go through the treament. Thankfully she recovered fully. But not everyone is as lucky as she was. We are participating in a program called Sew For a Cure. The complete details are in our newsletter, which is a new feature on our webpage, so just click your way over to it and learn all about the program.

Grandma just got in some new fabric.  I need to go help her check in...I do love playing with the fabric.  Be sure to stop by if you're in the area.  Maybe it will be on one of my days in the store and we can sit and chat a spell.
