Strapped into its buggy and abandoned along a vast, deserted beach, a baby journeys into the realm of the primordial...

Lourdes Hoteles motelWritten and directed by Owen Fitzpatrick and produced by Anne Tweedy, this enigmatic and disturbing twelve-minute film incorporates a blend of various drawing techniques in its portrayal of a baby child abandoned to a beautiful yet violent landscape.

Commissioned by The Irish Film Board, R.T.. and The Arts Council as part of Frameworks, 'The Nest' went into production in January 2000 and was completed in October 2000. Based on a short script written by Owen Fitzpatrick in 1995, 'The Nest' was revised during 1999 before being successfully submitted to The Irish Film Board.

The Nest takes us on a voyage from the comfort of home and civilisation towards the frightening reality of an indifferent universe.

'The Nest' has been screened at The Cork International Film Festival 2000 and The Motorola Irish Animation Festival 2000. 'The Nest' will continue on the festival circuit into 2001. Check for updates on the Rocket Animation Home Page.
