World and Five time U.S. National Men's Figure Skating Champion.

Is Todd a Professional or an Amateur?

Todd is a professional but is also retaining his Olympic eligible status.

Is Todd going to compete at the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City?

Todd hopes to give the Olympics one more try. In the 2000-2001 season, Todd returned  to full-time eligible competition in order to get back in front of the judges prior to the 2001-2002 Olympic season.

Who is his coach?

Richard Callaghan has been Todd's coach since he was 10 years old.

Who are his choreographers?

Richard Callaghan and Olga Volozhinskaya, a former ice dancer from Russia who now works at the Detroit Skating Club.

Where does he currently train?

Todd currently trains at ONYX Rochester Ice Arena in Rochester, Michigan.

Where else has he trained besides Detroit?

Todd followed his coach, Richard Callaghan, around the U.S. He's trained in Philadelphia, Colorado, San Diego, and Detroit.

When did he first start skating?

Todd began skating at age 5 and starting competing when he was around 7.

Why does he jump in a different direction than the other skaters?

Todd and a few other skaters are more comfortable jumping in a clockwise direction (to the right) rather than the predominant counter-clockwise direction (to the left).

What kind of skate boots does he wear?

Todd wears Graf boots which he wore when he landed his first quad in competition.

Why does he recycle his costumes?

Well, Todd hasn't really explained. The speculation is that it's just his Yankee upbringing and he's being frugal. Of course, owning both a Ferrari and a Corvette isn't cheap!

What are his favorite programs?

Todd's favorite show program is Il Mare Calmo Della Sera.
Todd's favorite competitive program is First Knight which he skated to win his 1996 World Championship title.

Todd enjoys most types of music but he especially favors classic rock such as Elton John, Pink Floyd.

What is his favorite car?

The shiny red Ferrari he bought to celebrate his 1996 World Championship victory.  He's also quite partial to the silver Corvette he purchased as a reward for landing his first quad in competition.

What is his favorite movie?

Young Frankenstein

What is his favorite food?

Chocolate seems to be especially appreciated.

What is his favorite flower?

Red rose, was his answer when the question was posed to him.

What is his date of birth?

August 28, 1971

How tall is he?

5' 8"

What is his marital status?

Single

What is his family background?

His father, John is a third generation commercial fisherman and currently works at the business with his brother. His mother, Ruth is a practical/home nurse. His older brother, Scott lives in Denver. John once owned a fishing boat named SCROD after Scott (SC), Ruth (R) and Todd (OD).

What is his hometown?

Chatham, Massachusetts. Chatham is located on the "elbow" of Cape Cod.

How was his hometown involved in his success?

In the early years, financing an elite skater was beyond the means of his family, so his hometown of Chatham banded together to raise money through various fund raising events so that Todd could continue to skate. Todd has since returned the favor by donating money to the town of Chatham to help other young athletes achieve their potential.

Is he involved in any charity activities?

Todd joined the board of directors of Penny Lane, a residential treatment center in North Hills, CA which provides services for abused and emotionally handicapped youth. During the 1997-1998 and 1998-1999 seasons Todd participated in the Cook's Triple Challenge. For every triple jump Todd landed, Cook's Champagne made a donation to The City of Hope for cancer research. Todd also does a lot of work for/on behalf of SABAH (Skating Association for the Blind and Handicapped). A portion of the proceeds from 1997 Todd Eldredge and Friends show went to that organization and he featured a couple of its skaters in the show. Todd also participates in several charity golf tournaments in the Detroit area and around the country.

What are his other hobbies and interests?

Golfing, tennis, fishing, and computers.

What is he's best golf score?

Todd's best score is a 74 playing 18 holes.

What is his golf handicap

Golf Digest (May 2000) inaugural Jock Rankings lists Todd's handicap at a respectable 3.1.

Where does he live now?

Todd has decided to settle near Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, in a lakeside home he had built. He moved in at the end of 1998. He has described it as sort of contemporary and features a rec room with a pool table, a bar and a TV that descends from the ceiling.

Is he on the Internet?

Todd does own a computer and uses it when he travels to surf the Web.

Has he thought of writing an autobiography?

Todd had considered it, but decided not to because he doesn't feel his career is over yet. He's right, it is far from over he's just starting a new chapter!
