This is the second year in a row that Todd has skated perfectly in Pittsburgh so I really think he should skate there more often!
I had first row seats down toward the end of the long side where the skaters come out so I thought that Todd would be sure to see our official Todd banners, but getting his attention turned out to be a more tedious operation than what I thought. To begin with, in the opening number Todd skated down the opposite side from where we were seated and exited the ice on the same side. He did great though and looked really good showing no signs of the head cold that plagued him earlier in the week.
I am quickly becoming a huge fan of PtC!!! This was an outstanding performance with Todd completing a 3loop, 3axel with a little bit of a low landing but beautiful just the same, a 3lutz, a 3toe loop, and a 2axel. His spins were right on, centered perfectly, and just so Todd-like. He just couldn't have skated any better and the power of this music suits him so well.
And the swing number at the finale is just too cute! Todd was really into it and yes, the guy can swing. Unfortunately once again he circled the entire ice stopping periodically in front of almost every section except ours :-(.
Lisbon hotel rooms I had just about given up on his seeing our banners when finally at the end when all the skaters were circling the ice right as Todd came by, my friend Bonnie and I screamed "Todd" waving the banners like a couple of wild women, and he looked our way. At that point his face lit up, he kind of turned around and pointed at us and gave us one of his infamous Todd grins and expressions. Needless to say our faces lit up too. Todd certainly has a way of making people so happy with just the simplest of gestures. And we were glad to know that Todd was aware that the Edgers were represented in the 'burgh! | |
