Todd skated to "Exotica" in the all-black, Pity the Child costume. He landed a quad-double toe, triple Axel, and a triple Lutz. The quad was off-balance and his presentation was flat (sub-par for Todd). Scores: | | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | | T: | 5.8 | 5.7 | 5.7 | 5.7 | 5.7 | 5.5 | 5.7 | | P: | 5.9 | 5.9 | 5.9 | 5.8 | 5.8 | 5.8 | 5.9 | On Saturday, I was present for the practices and LP's. During the 20-minute practice (more like warm-up), Todd looked literally "cold." Overall, it was not a very smooth practice. He landed 2-double Axels, 2-triple Axels, a triple Axel-triple toe, 2-triple toes (as a warm-up for the quad toe). For one of the quad attempts, Todd "chickened-out" to a double toe. Finally, he landed a quad-triple toe with an extremely squeaky landing! For the remaining allotted time, Todd worked on his other jumps ending the practice with a triple Salchow on his third attempt. Based on his numerous smiles and silly gestures, Todd indicated to have been in a good mood although his practice wasn't going very well. Warm-up for the LP looked uncomfortable for Todd; he seemed tentative and tight. Numerous quad attempts, but he landed one cleanly before warm-up concluded. As for the LP to the music of "13th Warrior", usual costume, Todd popped the quad to a double toe, fell on the triple Axel (almost ended up in a full split position upon contact with the ice, looked painful), triple Lutz, triple flip-double toe, triple Axel, triple toe (2-footed, in place of triple loop), triple salchow, triple toe-double toe (ad-libbed). Todd never seemed mentally or emotionally connected to the program; it was very awkward and distant. Scores: | | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | | T: | 5.6 | 5.7 | 5.6 | 5.7 | 5.7 | 5.7 | 5.7 | | P: | 5.8 | 5.8 | 5.8 | 5.8 | 5.9 | 5.9 | 5.9 | Even with an unsatisfactory LP, Todd remained in very good spirits. At the brief medal ceremony, he was laughing and goofing around with the other senior men on the podium. After photographs were taken of the medallists, the photographers gathered *many* of the young skaters from the local Wichita Figure Skating Club around the medallists for a photo opt. Todd patiently stood on the podium and played around with the young kids within his vicinity; it was very cute to observe this. Throughout the competition, Todd made himself very accessible to the public. Of course, as always, Todd was very gracious to all those who would approach him for an autograph or a picture. | | | | | | Fi | Name | Club | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | Maj. | FP | | 1. | Todd Eldredge | Detroit SC | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 7/1 | 1.0 | | 2. | Danny J.
