Rocket Animation recently completed a commercial for The Santa's Kingdom franchise. The commercial aired on RTE, Network 2, TV3, Sky 0ne and Sky News. The four week event sold out in three days.

 

ROCKET NEWS IN BRIEF

The Angelic Organ screened recently at The 15th Leeds International Film Festival 2001 and has been selected for screening at The 13th International Welsh Film Festival 2001 and The Foyle Budweiser Northern Ireland International Film Festival 2001 (November 9th to 18th 2001).

The Angelic Organ came third in the audience vote at Sovata uebernachtungThe Galway Film Fleadh 2001 Animation (New Irish Animation and Frameworks screenings). More about this film below!

We are delighted that The Nest has been selected for screening at the International Panorama at The 11 Mostra Curta Cinema 7 Rio de Janeiro International Short Film Festival. The festival had a record 655 international entries and selected a total of 117 short films (representing 41 countries) for the International Panorama.

The Nest screened in front of Mike Nichols latest feature film, 'Wit', starring Emma Thompson at The 46th Semana Internacional de Cine de Valladolid, Spain (October 26th to November 3rd 2001).

Rocket Animation is an Irish-based animation production company specialising in original, high quality productions for Cinema, Television and the Internet.

Since Rocket Animation Ltd. was set up in 1998 by Caroline Dunn, Stuart Switzer and Owen Fitzpatrick, it has produced and co-produced a wide range of animation series and short films including Backyard Tales, Mikey's Sporting Madness, RTÉ/Den TV's The Lab (live-action) and Joke Box, From An Evil Cradling, The Nest and The Angelic Organ.

Rocket Animation has also produced high quality title sequences, inserts, and graphics for many televison productions including RTÉ's hit series Our House and Treasure Island.

Mikeys Sporting Madness! (35 x 45 second episodes of sporting fun and pop culture lunacy). Several episodes screened in late October 2000 at The 5th Manchester Short Film and Video Festival proved to be big hit.

A place where everybody knows your name - but who the hell would want 'em to?!!

When ex-cons, Mickey Scragger and his brothers, Flynn and Cheech, set out to make an honest buck for themselves by running an exotic New York Tiki-style cocktail bar, help arrives in an even more exotic form!

Rocket Animation has completed a 2 x minute pilot for Scraggers which was shown for the first time at MIPTV in early April, 2001. We will show some of the exceptional artwork from this production in the coming weeks.

Richard Pokrich crackpot, inventor and eccentric. It is to this pleasant and jocular fellow that we are indebted for one of the most enchanting instruments ever made The Angelic Organ.

 

Based on a true story, The Angelic Organluxury hotels in Wroclaw follows the adventures of Eighteenth Century eccentric and inventor, Richard Pokrich, as he attempts to bring an entirely new and novel sound to the world.

The Angelic Organ has been selected for screening at The 15th Leeds International Film Festival.

The film will be screened in The Louis le Prince Animation Competition. The Festival will run from the 27th September to the 12th October.

From An Evil Cradling (Kavaleer Productions in association with Rocket Animation (distributed by London based Optimum Releasing) was released in UK cinemas (from November 24th November 2000 at UGC Haymarket London, UGC Brighton and UGC Edinburgh) in front of MGM's Flawless directed by Joel Schumacher and starring Robert De Niro.

From An Evil Cradling is soon to be screened in front of a feature on Sky Movies. Optimum releasing and Sky are organising the sale of some of the film's artwork, the proceeds of which will be going to charity.

From An Evil Cradling has been screened at Annecy 2000 and Expo 2000 (Hannover) as well as many national and international film festivals. Our congratulations to From An Evil Cradling co-directors Andrew Kavanagh and Keith Foran and all of the crew.
