Rider's Comments: Most of the northern portion of this trail is onsidewalks where pedestrian traffic can be heavy. It is one of the most interesting trailsin the area, however, and should not be missed. Don't miss the loop that goes around thelake side of Northwestern Campus. You'll even find a marina operated by the Universitywhere you can sign up for sailing lessons. There is a nice beach accompanied by a parkjust south of the campus. The connection from the south to the Chicago Lakefront Bike Trail (4.5 miles) is wellmarked by "Bike Route" signage and follows low-traffic side streets. Theconnection from the north to the Green Bay Trail in Wilmette (1.5 miles) is notwell-marked and is tricky to accomplish
