Rider's Comments: Near Orland Park is this peaceful, secluded spot.Spring Creek runs through this 947-acre state nature preserve noted for beautiful springwildflowers and rare bird species. At least 146 native plant species have been recordedhere. To hike the nature trail, cross the stone bridge over Spring Creek and head northalong a ridge overlooking a ravine. You will find water, picnic tables, shelters, andrestrooms at both the Hawthorn and Oak Knoll areas. The northern section of the preserveis a designated Illinois Nature Preserve and is not open to pets.
