Network Optimization Appliance NPE1010A Incorporated into GLN to Enhance Performance to 8,500 Worldwide Education Institutions

The companies will team to link Proficient Networks' NPE1010A into the Cisco Global Learning Network Architecture. One of the first beneficiaries of this combined solution will be the Cisco Networking Academy Program to help deliver personalized curriculum to its worldwide members.

EdgePoint Technology chose Proficient Networks' NPE1010A for monitoring of traffic performance from the thousands of academy sites located worldwide. Prior to Proficient Network's solution, connectivity from Cisco Networking Academy to the 8,500 universities, which were administering more than 35,000 daily Web-based exams, was sporadic and performance was not optimum.
