Why Did We Change Our Cool Name?

We needed a name that was more descriptive of the breadth of products and services we provide. We are a provider of policy management software and services that allow companies to more effectively manage and control distributed electronic assets. The Omniva Policy Manager, the company's flagship enterprise product, helps enterprises solve a large and growing problem, the legal exposure associated with unmanaged email archives. Based on a unique, low overhead infrastructure solution, Omniva Policy Systems has built a platform for control that doesn't compromise user productivity.

The current business and legal environment has made it abundantly clear that corporations need to control their electronic assets and that implementing email policies is an important first step. Ensuring that all copies of electronic assets can be controlled according to corporate policy means more than deleting unnecessary emails, and our new name reflects that. Omniva Policy Systems provides tools that allow companies to enforce this broad range of policies while our previous corporate name, Disappearing Inc., emphasized just one feature of our overall policy management ability.

While we have loved the playfulness of the "Disappearing Inc." name, its limited descriptive ability was increasingly confusing for our customers. We have received great feedback and support from our partners and customers, and are very excited about this change.

Why "Omniva Policy Systems"?

We needed a name that was more descriptive of what we do, that was legally available, and had an associated URL available. "Omniva Policy Systems" [OM-NEE-VA] met that criteria. Strong and stable in tone, "Omniva" helps convey the reliability of our enterprise product in addition to the breadth and universality of our management solution for corporations confronting the risks associated with electronic assets today. "Omniva Policy Systems" provides a meaningful, yet distinctive name for the company.

Will You Still Have "Disappearing Email"?

Absolutely. Disappearing Email is and will continue to be an important asset of Omniva Policy Systems. Specifically, Disappearing Email showcases our flagship email policy of retention and deletion control. In fact, we will continue to use the "Disappearing Email" name in connection with our free, individual trial product available off our Web Site (www.omniva.com) for the purpose of evaluating our technology.
